Year 5 have had such an amazing time at the Life Centre through at Newcastle! The day was packed full of amazing workshops and areas to explore, so much so that many pupils found it difficult to say which part was their favourite. Their morning began from exploring the space zone – looking at the Gaia viewing platform and the international space station replica. They then had lots of fun in the Dinosaur area, sharing different facts about the different types they came across and trying to pronounce some of the different names. A real favourite was the planetarium that had a 360 degree immersive dome show that took Class 5 on a journey throughout the solar system. There were many more exciting things such as the Wow and Lightbox area that provided a range of fun and practical activities for the pupils to do. Finally, pupils took part in a space themed workshop that allowed them to use remote controller robot arms, taste freeze dried strawberries that would be eaten in space, as well as testing about a model working rocket!
