Our Year 1 children have been busy developing their computing skills by exploring using Bee-Bots!
Working in pairs, the children took turns to give their Bee-Bots instructions to help them move around the classroom. They had to think carefully about the direction they wanted their Bee-Bot to travel and the sequence of buttons they needed to press to reach their destination.
The children showed fantastic teamwork as they discussed their ideas, planned their routes and tested their instructions. When their Bee-Bots didn’t quite go where they expected, they became computing detectives! They worked together to debug their programs, identify any mistakes and try again until they got it right.
We were so impressed with their perseverance, problem-solving skills and collaboration. The children are beginning to understand that computers need clear, precise instructions and that making mistakes is an important part of learning!
Well done, Year 1 – you were all brilliant little programmers!
